Weston Williamson was selected by Southwark Council as architects for this award-winning project in the Bermondsey Spa Regeneration Area following a two stage invited architectural design competition in 2007.
This new development comprises 48 residential units of mixed tenure including social rented and market sale apartments over a ground floor commercial and retail space fronting Spa Road. The development was completed in two phases.
Weston Williamson’s design solution incorporates a range of innovative concepts derived from the opportunities and constraints of the site. These included maximising dual aspect residential units and the generation of active facades to the Spa Road frontage and those facing the existing Vauban Estate. The completed scheme is recognised as an exemplar of knitting new development into an existing estate regeneration masterplan.
Weston Williamson often attract repeat business and secured the second phase of the project that completed in 2015.
