Interior design project.

The first impression as you walked in into this space was very claustrophobic, several spaces divided between two floors with dark colors. My intention was to open and let the most natural light to come in as much as I could, the apartment is facing north and in a city like Buffalo, NY natural light is most needed.

I started by cutting off some of the walls and make the space a more open plan, with the upstairs room hanging over the living room this option made the space completely different and open. I used fine materials as black marble in the entrance and in the kitchen area mixed with birch paneling which made the space elegant and warm. In the bathrooms inspired by the 1920's I selected white marble with green detail.

Once completed the space was now completely different and open, my client was extremely happy with the end result and couldn't wait to move in into this new house.

The best thing was when we open it to the neighbors and the reaction was that the space looked much more elegant, open yet very comfortable and bigger.
