When my client came to us the request was to be functional, open and to be able to protect the clients from the strong north winds during part of the summer.

After several sketches and research on the area we came to a 'L" shape layout which in this specific project solved all our problems. The access to the cafe is through a walkway where you don't see the cafe space, you have to walk to it to discover it. Once you enter the open space it becomes sheltered and very comfortable, its facing south and west where one can enjoy the endless beach sand and the amazing sunsets.

The idea was to make it look like an abandon ship half on the dune half on the beach. This poetic image attracts one to explore.
