Restoration of the historic masonry façades of the New Haven City Hall was a multi-year endeavor that began with a Condition Assessment Study and ended with full restoration of the façades. Prior to developing final restoration plans all treatment options were field tested and monitored to determine their effectiveness, visual characteristics, chemical formulation and overall suitability for use in restoring the historic façades.

The scope of the restoration work required that specialized contractors be found who were capable of performing the work while meeting all state and local procurement requirements.
