My name is Erik Larson, I'm a licensed architect with 7.5 years of experience in high-end design and I'm excited to connect with you!
I've worked at small, highly design-focused offices where I cut my teeth on residential, commercial, and retail projects. Most importantly, I learned how much I enjoy cultivating and sustaining relationships with clients, consultants, and coworkers. While the quality of our work got our foot in the door, the collaborative experience I worked hard to cultivate helped us develop our ideas into a built space together as a team.
My time at a design-build office—as well as the licensure process I completed last year—deepened my passion for architecture as it culminates in the art of construction. I'm grateful to every consultant and site superintendent who shared their expertise with me. The knowledge I've gained of the realities of construction means I'm proud to be well versed in both the process of design and the craft of construction. I enjoy communicating my team's ideas into comprehensive drawings that are built to the client's and my own high standards.
I've also complemented my passion for residential design by freelancing as an architectural illustrator on the subject of American housing. Books I've illustrated have won multiple national awards in historical and vernacular architecture thanks to the incredible research of the authors I've had a blast working with.
Slade Architecture's dynamic work portfolio is really beautiful. Researching your projects, I admire the way each feels uniquely shaped to its site and client: nothing tells the same story through a predetermined lens. I'd love the opportunity to continue working on interior and architectural projects across scales and project types. And I'm heartened to learn you work in Rhino, Revit, and AutoCAD--my most familiar and favorite modeling / documentation software. I think we'd be a great fit and I'd welcome the chance to figure that out together in an interview.
When I'm not working on a deadline I'm exploring the city's museums and restaurants, walking my German Shepherd, or seeing movies at the Metrograph with my wife, a nurse with New York Presbyterian. I really appreciate you checking out my work and I hope we can create great spaces together.
Thank you!
