Yatch Club

Lisbon's Pier is at its peak. There's a large and loud promenade linning the Tajo's estuary which connects the city and de Pier. Or almost: the last part is abbandoned and wild. In contrast, Lisbon is a seaside city where people loves walking through the promenade and doing activities while they admire the beauty of the river. Aquatic sports are very important in Lisbon too, but there`s no places or spaces to practice them properly. The goal of this project is to create a yatch club in this promenade, connecting Lisbon's downtown with the Pier as creating an urban public space for Lisbon's citizens. The building is placed parallel to the river. It is a bridge that connects the promenade with the Pier, being a bridge itself, creating an urban beach which brings access to Tajo's river.

The "dry" programme is contained inside the bridge but the "wet" programme (kayak trainning classrooms...) are placed in the basement, which gets full of water due to the changing tide of the river (4m). Besides, the bridge is a public walkway. The continuation of the promenade and the private communication of the building are also similar to the public one. Furthermore, there is a wet walkway hanging under the bridge that connects the wet installations of the yatch club.
