The following are a set of construction documents of an elementary school. The project required students to analyze the main architectural as well interior elements of a structural building from HVAC, sprinklers, fire-rated glass, and electrical systems to flooring materials, lockers, and etc.
The images of the elevation drawings of the office space, however, was mainly an architectural project that dealt with sustainability. It allowed me to explore my chosen site of the Poconos. My design technique follows the concept of Harmony where the building progresses through the site in its shape, adapts to the climate through the use of materials and design schemes, and does minimal damage to the site. Among the main aspects of the design are the sloped roof so snow won't accumulate, 2 main translucent volumes dividing the 3 main blocks of the office to allow natural light to illuminate the space, and the 6 pillars that act both as the support for the structure as well as geothermal energy for heating and cooling.
