Credit Union

My concept for this project derived from the pattern of wood grain. I analyzed a variety of grain textures and knots and applied the main forms to the plan of the existing building. The knots of the grains are utilized in the main rooms of the bank. The simple, natural slits on the side of a tree influenced my designs. The pattern of the knots and the grain directions are also mimicked on the ceiling to allow natural clerestory light to enter the space without disrupting the work ethic of the employees. Regarding colour theory, I chose to use the natural palettes of wood and kept with the colour scheme neutral and earth-toned.
