La Place du Nombre d’Or (The Golden Number Plaza) acts as a landmark agora and gateway to the Antigone district. The Place is the first ensemble of the district. The geometrical principles of harmony, based on the golden number, lie behind all lines and details, from the whole to the part, following one key Renaissance principle of perfection and beauty. Housing units are set along the plaza perimeter. The external façade is an articulated sequence of houses, while the interior plaza, features continuity of rhythm, crowned by a cornice that envelops the space and suggests the base of a dome: the sky.
