Terminal II at Barcelona Airport

For Barcelona 1992 Summer Olympics the airport underwent a major development consisting in the modernization and expansion of the existing terminal (terminal B) and the construction of the other two (A and C terminals).
“The Ramblas”, an interior retail street one kilometre long overlooking the spectacle of the aircrafts traffic, connects the three terminal buildings. The new international terminal is a glazed double-skin container with a roof spanning one hundred twenty meters supported on four columns enclosing the central hall area, where the palm trees reminded the visitors of the Mediterranean climate.
The whole complex is built on Llobregat River delta wetlands.
