Theatre

According to de development of the new district of Aarhus, a new theatre was required to be the culture icon of the area.
The theatre is sited at the south of the area, a perfect place for a building of this chararcteristics. It can work as a relation between the town and this new zone.
It’s also located at the end of the principal way to the port zone from town.
Therefore, the new theatre will be a constant point of view of many places of the city.

Picking up the sketches of the new development, the project’s intention was to create a new pedestrian way from the access of the “island” that moves you throughout it, making some twists that directs your sight to determinate points of the views, making a comfortable way till the end of the way, where the building opens you to the better views of the “island”, the open sea and the marina.

The theatre has 2 theaters, a big one, and a secondary one. Also it has two independent volumes, which are clustered by an external glass skin and concrete columns. The void space between both volumes will receive and organize the visitors as well as create a covered square where people can talk and discuss about the play.
