Frisco Square Residential Village

OSDA provided planning, theming, design guidelines, PUD Code development and engineering services for the 30-acre high density residential parcel. The project site is part of a larger 147-acre City of Frisco mixed-use development that is slated to be the City’s core urban area. Frisco Square’s eclectic mix of town homes has row house inspired architecture with Italianate characteristics. At the communities heart is a ‘Central Park’ type of open space feature. The developer wanted to see a ‘brownstone’ style row house fronting on tree lined streets with 12-foot wide brick sidewalks and parallel on-street parking.  The streetscape included brick pavers, tree grates, and bollards at intersections where we rolled-down the curb at brick paver crosswalks.  Antique streetlights were located in alignment with the street trees.  The over riding concept for the streetscape was to create a park-like setting.  In fact, some of the streets were developed as “Green-streets” or muses with lots of plantings.  The main muses connected the community to the neighborhood park.  This allowed for more pedestrian friendly circulation throughout the development.
