Taking cue from the historic, industrial ambiance of the Bowery, the design team created a unique building of mid-rise tower of stone, glass and aluminum with two setbacks.
A main volume: a curving four-story mass, is clad in aluminum and glass. Connecting the building to this historic context, the architects created a low
stone wall with round columns along the Bond Street storefront. The lobby features an arched wall with metal paneling in a luminous finish to match the building exterior’s curvilinear aluminum finish.
Ten loft residences were designed with 11-foot ceilings and large, 20-footlong
windows.
A wall of polished wood conceals the outdoor lighting in the 1,000 SF common
rooftop area.
In addition to the lofts, more than 5,000 SF of street-level retail is provided. As one of the first new residential buildings in this, then emerging, historic area, it is credited with spearheading revitalization.
