MARSHALL BROWN PROJECTS is a versatile urban design and architecture studio based in Chicago. We specialize in visions for the future of urban environments and the creative integration of architecture, infrastructure and landscape.
Marshall Brown, AIA is an urban designer and licensed architect. The practice has worked on several projects in Chicago, including the Navy Pier redevelopment and a master plan for the neighborhood of Washington Park. Brown is also founder of the Yards Development Workshop, designers of the UNITY Plan for the Atlantic Yards in Brooklyn, New York. He has a broad range of experience working with a diverse body of organizations including the New York City Council, U.S. Department of Energy, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the Municipal Art Society of New York, and the Smithsonian Institute. His work has been exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit and Western Exhibitions in Chicago.
Brown is also a professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology. His works and writings have appeared in several books and journals, including Architectural Record, The New York Daily News, Art Papers, The Believer, and New Directions in Sustainable Design.
