ATLANTIC YARDS, NEW YORK

The Yards Development WorkShop, founded in 2004, is a collaborative design studio with a mission of transforming the MTA Vanderbilt Yards (a.k.a. Atlantic Yards) into a place that is culturally and economically productive, thereby providing a new model for big development in New York.

In cooperation with New York City Council Member Letitia James, our team of architects and urban designers from Brooklyn has worked to create development alternatives for the Atlantic Yards – alternatives of course, to the 7.6 million square foot proposal by Forest City Ratner Companies. This is an overview of our proposal, the UNITY plan for the MTA Vanderbilt Rail Yards.
