We are looking for an integral member to our small design team! Start to finish, you will be a part of the entire process - designing, documenting, and project managing commercial and residential projects big and small.  How is that for a broad job description?

You must have a minimum 5 years working at a professional architecture / interiors / design-build firm as an interior designer, architect or draftsman.  Because we are a small office, we’d love for you to have experience working in a small office setting - but this is not a requirement. You must have an undergraduate or graduate degree in architecture, interior design, or interior architecture.

First and foremost you will be the master of all of our drawings - whether that means producing them yourself or managing subcontractors to make sure they are done properly and according to our standards.  You will be responsible for producing or overseeing creation of as-built through CD sets.  You will be responsible for code research - so familiarity with residential and commercial building code, as well as the permitting process, is required.

We are also searching for a person that is comfortable on a job-site, communicating with contractors in a relaxed and friendly manner.  We imagine that someone with design-build firm experience could bring a lot to our company.

Autocad, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite proficiency is a must.  You are technical support.

Please submit your resume and a cover letter.  In your response, please let us know your salary requirements and/or your salary history.

Also, please provide us with a two-sentence response to one of the following three questions -

(1) Tell us about a noteworthy designed business / spot in Portland.

(2) What have you done for continuing your education?

(3) Which design publication(s) do you find the most useful or inspiring?

We offer a flexible and fun work environment.  Employees receive laptops and are not expected to work in the office every day.  We have a wide range of projects - big and small, commercial and residential.  Each of us works on multiple projects at once, it is fun and at times stressful.  We believe in a healthy work-life balance - let’s be passionate about what we do in the office, and then go home and have a full life outside of work.
