This project is about a fully glassed complex geometry podium for two bank headquaters in Shenzhen.

    Our mission was the optimization of the complex geometry including it’s panelization, assembly system and cost, as well as calculating the facade structure and glass panels.

    Through the reconstruction of the 3D model, the study allowed us to simplify the geometry and identify different categories of surfaces such as planar, single-curved and double curved. Despite a 6% increase in total surface area, 26 % of the cost was saved in addition to a global time savings during the fabrication.

    The structural system adopted includes a series of horizontal curved transom fixed  on vertical curved columns. A special  clamping device has been designed to fasten the glass panels in 6 points on the different positions along the curves.
