images 1 and 2 - El nou Mercat de Santa Caterina by EMBT located in the Barri Gotic.
we arrived too late to get inside. next time... so, we just sat outside for a while checking everything out. after 20 minutes or so we left and got a couple chicken empanadas.

image 3 - an Aprila, a Vespa and the ancient Roman wall.

image 4 - Raval, Carrer de les Carretes. Our apartment was on this street.

image 5 - Rambla del Raval ...not the hyper-touristed Las Ramblas, but a neighborhood rambla nearby. We loved it here - very relaxed area. small groups congregate on the benches and lawns that line the rambla. a dozen or so restaurants and bars in sight, a few others just out of sight, 10 minute stroll to Las Ramblas, a bit longer to the Barri Gotic.

Did you make it to Chupitos? Its a shot bar somewhere along the coast not too far down from where las Ramblas dead ends at the water. I just remember one of my buddies getting the "monica lewinsky" shot, I wouldn't recommend it lol.

hey cvankle...no, we didn't go there. we did meet MADianato at AMBAR at the end of Ramble del Raval one night, and chilled there and a few other laid back places in the neighborhood. no shot bars though...
