The concept of the site was based on the idea of reviving the nature of the location; allowing nature shelter since nature played
a major role of inspiring artists for centuries. The “indigenous grass ribbon” that is flowing poetically through the green tent, is forming the different compartments, and unifying the space. The romantic imagery of the old industrial existing structures that surround the new building and connecting with the canal, make it the “Industrial Venice of Gowanus”.
