The site is a 5000 sqft unused rooftop of a residential building along the snaking JJ flyover of Mumbai. The landlady chose to open up the terrace to the residents for recreation and cultural activities while retaining part of it as a weekend retreat. The space has been transformed into studio apartment flanked by a thriving private garden on one side and community space on the other. Under the sloping roof is an informal sitout and a huge dining arrangement overlooking the lush greens and the dense old city scape beyond
