This is a roughly 80,000 square foot medical office building with a Linear Accelerator, Breast Care Suite with MRI, Surgery Center, and a few other suites. The structure is steel with steel studs and E.I.F.S. As apart of my IDP requirements I was responsible for the Construction Administration under the watchful eye of Ashif Jahn and Marie Segura. There were many issues with the construction documents when I began my role, and they mainly had to do with the level of detail that was necessary for such a project. In the end I had to do a considerable amount of repairs to the BIM file to insure that the contractor was receiving the most accurate information possible. This in the end totalled nearly 100 sheets. Some of the revisions were because of the fast track phasing of the project and others were because of lack of attention to detail by the initial design team, 5 years earlier. In the end the project came together on time and on budget, and because of use of BIM and the efforts employed by the Construction Administration Team, and Project Architects we were able to make a lot of corrections before change orders were necessary.
