Livable Cistern

While building towards a sustainable future, it is evident that Tucson, Arizona needs to gather and save as much water as possible. The livable cistern allows for inhabitants to observe and experience the amount of water being collected throughout the year. The glass dome collects the rainwater and filters into the water walls on the east and west side of the cistern. The glass dome is covered with Voltarlux glazing, which allows for light to pass through while generating solar power. The first two levels of the building have retail/commercial spaces with a bridge connecting the northern and southern levels. The next 13 levels have two and three bedroom residential apartments with the bottom level being a common area for the residents.
