The docile appearance of materials, (concrete, metal, glass, and furniture) Enhanced by dramatic use of light allows a very intimate experiences of beauty. Tadao Ando successfully showed his mastery in this simple building achieving such a perfect unity of matter spirit and essence of Christianity. This church has been and always will be a place to retreat and leave the outside world as forgotten. The only glimpse of the real world is controlled by the amount of light filters throughout the design. The church of light is one of many fundamental representations of Christianity and it’s a low-tech to book bold and powerful design.
