The design of Parcel 6, located in a dense commercial neighborhood in Los Angeles, proposes the revitalization of a once-thriving Flower Market. Redeveloped as a state-of-the-art laboratory for flower research, among retail and public event spaces, this design explores the structural use of steel and mass timber. The design encourages visitors to explore the nature-based facade curtain wall system, as it grows out of the roof gardens and south-facing facade. The carefully organized floor plans allow for accessible and engaging work spaces for all.
