Paul J. Stankard Retrospective Exhibit at Museum of Arts and Design

Paul J. Stankard Retrospective Exhibit: A Floating World, 40 Years of an American Master in Glass

"Paul Stankard is an artist admired and beloved around the world. His glass floral compositions, suspended gracefully in containers of hte purest crystal, are the descendants of traditional paperweights - transformed by a bold new concept. Proclamations of Stankard's extraordinary skill in his chosen medium, his creations are visual poems to the splendors and mysteries of the natural world. We are proud to present this exhibit within out Modern Master series, which acknowledges exceptional artists whose careers, lives, and works have been seminal catalysts for creativity in craft, art, and design.

The sensitivity of Harry Elson and his firm to each of Stankard's creations is manifest in the design of the installation."

Holly Hotchner, Director, Museum of Arts & Design

The exhibit was designed to be a traveling installation. Using proportions of the golden section, the installation provides an intimate viewing experience while highlighting the details and intricacies of each individual artwork. We worked very closely with the museum's curators and craftsmen throughout the design and production process.
