The intervention area is located in front of the “Lucia Viano” Kindergarten in the Donatello district of Cuneo. Previously, it was a road section with a space used as a parking lot.
The project aims to transform this area into a school square, an open space designed to serve as a meeting and interaction point for the school community and local residents. The goal is to enhance both the aesthetics and functionality of the space, addressing the needs of the residents and creating a more welcoming and safe environment.
Key transformations include pedestrianizing the area, eliminating direct vehicular traffic, and introducing new green spaces, which contribute to improving the quality of life for children and residents. Play areas with equipment suitable for children have been created, along with recreational spaces for the entire community, complemented by benches for resting and socializing. Flowering trees have been planted, and the aesthetic elements of the area have been enhanced. Additionally, bike racks have been installed to promote sustainable mobility, and public lighting has been improved to ensure greater safety and usability during evening hours.
The transformation of the area in front of the “Lucia Viano” Kindergarten into a school square represents a significant improvement for the Donatello district. This project not only meets functional and aesthetic needs but also creates a livable and interactive space that enriches community and school life, promoting safety and well-being for its users.
