Earthwork

This design proposal sought to imagine a new national landmark for the Peace Corps, to be built in Washington D.C. 

A winding wall of rammed earth occupies the center of the site, providing a highly physical and tactile reminder of the local contexts Peace Corps volunteers must immerse themselves in. The wall is composed of five layers of earth, each made of a primary soil type selected to represent a continent in which the Peace Corps have historically been involved.
