An existing 326,000 SF industrial building in Queens will soon be receiving a redevelopment upgrade, transforming from a past firetruck manufacturing factory to a new contemporary office building with big box retail and market space in the cellar floor.
The new office building will include a modern open lobby, nodding to the building’s factory roots, but including new social space amenities indicative of the new workforce. With areas for a coffee shop and tenant cafe, the new office building will embrace the concept of the third workplace, giving residents of the building, along with residents of the Queen's community, a “third” space in which to socialize, collaborate and work.
With an existing skylight dominating the center of the building, the new core construction will include two new elevators and a new stair emerging up and through the glass, catering to the 3rd and 4th floors from the exterior, and allowing for the use of a new rooftop green space and additional amenity space featuring sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline, accessible to the residents of all three floors.
