This project, composed of a boathouse, restaurant and interactive social space, seeks to provide the inhabitants of Kendall Square with the foundations for developing a stronger social identity. The design is broken apart into two volumes; the boathouse which reaches out over the water and the social space that acts as a pavilion centered within the pedestrian flow of the site. To establish a greater connection with Broad Canal, a grand pedestrian ramp was created which connects the entry point of the buildings directly to the boardwalk.
