Global Crossing's CEO wanted his New York headquarters to exemplify the cutting-edge connectivity that their telecommunications deliver. LHSD+AP's concept to achieve this took the form of a digital neural network. Set amidst a sea of conventional Wall Street firms, the office was stripped down to its raw structure. Every element LHSD+AP introduced now conveyed lightness and speed, translucency and transparency to optimize the workspace. The linchpin of the design, inspired by the idea of transmitting neurons, materialized as a sculptural fiberoptic lighting network suspended above and around the space. The new office made flexibility, openness and luminosity palpable. The company's technological pulse now had a suitable anatomy in which to thrive.
