LHSA+DP provided complete architectural and exhibit design services for this all-new children’s museum. Using a variety of exhibit techniques, visitors learn about local and natural history through immersive environments featuring a magical bedroom, a tree house, a village store, a potato chip factory, a musical forest, a fishing boat and many more.

The building takes as its inspiration the indigenous Long Island Potato Barn. Extensive site planning and landscape design features were utilized to create an environment where a broad range of outdoor programming activities can take place. For example, the grounds include a maze garden and an outdoor amphitheatre for performances and film screenings.
