My partner and I won the competition for the summer of 2010.  The rules to the competition were to construct an exhibition that used some kind of recycled/reused material.  Our proposal was to create a mobile exhibition that embodied the recycling of ideas.  The exhibition would be constructed from tossed Sonotubes and travel to an array of public schools across the St. Louis area.  The exhibition would educate students about sustainable living and allow them to contribute to the ecological conversation as the exhibit passes from one school to the next.  

Soon after the competition was won, our client changed to the St. Louis Regional Arts Commission who were seeking an outdoor urban furniture/exhibit that would be on display during the St. Louis Blues Festival.  Sponsored by Studio L and the St. Louis Regional Arts Commission, my partner and I engaged the entire architectural process - from schematic design to construction - in two summer months.  We set our own deadlines, managed our own budget, educated ourselves with material fabrication techniques, and built the exhibition while consulting with advisors and reporting to various city councils.  This experience proved most vital in learning to be a self-disciplined individual and diligent team worker to complete a project in a timely manner.
