The project seeks to break the social and spatial segregation that mentally ill and homeless people experience in the city of Poughkeepsie, using a new rehabilitation system built on the fragmented urban spaces, and regionally connected with the anthropocentric environment in nature.
Historically, consciousness and landscape have been idealized as perfectible, and has been labeled as normal behavior whereas anomalies are described as scars or illness. Instead, our project sees scars or illness as indicators of everyday transformations and challenges, for which adaptation is necessary.
