Exposing the elements of design in this project did not come easy.  I worked through ideas with material choices, space planning and layering until i had arrived at a solution that worked as well as held it's integrity.  In keeping with the "exposing the core" concept i incorporated curved glass walls that reveal the hotel's adjacent counterparts.  I also placed custom built-in millwork at strategic locations throughout the hotel to create layers of interest.  Hopefully this hotel will cause each guest to engage in a new kind of experience while staying in lower Manhattan.
