The Design constraint of this project was to replace the existing load bearing wall with an completely transparent curtain wall glazing system , to maximize the visibility interior retail space around the corner lot and provide an inviting new look to the prospective customers to visit the store. The idea is to carve into the existing 100 yr old building like a tetris block plugged into the site . The existing building facade accentuates the new proposal and the design responds to the existing structural condition and complements the neighboring new glass store front buildings.
