The project develops with the combination of 2 logics of transformation, such as finite-state machine and elasticity-plasticity shape shifting as one of the major formal systems. 2 Kuka Robot was given as site by the UCLA SUPRASTUDIO instructors to build an object that is capable of transforming its shape by using these two logics. In order to achieve the motion with elasticity, soft-joint skin combined with rigid panels made both out of different type of silicon rubbers, design and fabrication digitally. Also, light sensors, servo motors, and Arduino were integrated to create the machine vision.
