See-Saw House

A reimagined modern-day farmhouse that marries barn and fortress language, to draw out the loftiness of the primary shed structures. The 4200 sq ft home in Southampton New York, uses passivhaus strategies of metal roofs, high thermal mass, limited west-facing glazing, and a courtyard that engenders cross ventilation. Its series of outdoor rooms culminates in a roof garden overlooking the enchanted forest of a nature preserve that borders the property. Slated for construction Spring 2024.
