CURVED ROADSIDE TIEBACK WALL, MILL VALLEY, CALIFORNIA

Tiebacks allowed us to use a narrow  footing for bearing rather than overturning resistance at this curving shotcrete wall located right against the street in the Mill Valley hills.  Access is tight, drivers tend  to go  fast, and footing excavation would have blocked traffic and posed a danger to the workers.  Tieback rod ends are visible two-thirds from the bottom of each pilaster.
