LA River Housing Project (2012) // plexiglass, bass wood // Done in UCLA A.UD summer class, I was given a project to create a house in the Los Angeles River. The house is in an undulating form similar to hills with each peak of the house is at different levels so that depending on the level of the water different parts of the house would be revealed.

Occupy (2013) // museum board // We were given the task to create spaces using planes within the given dimensions of a box. These series of models all follow an idea of angular and faceted planes and how they divide the space inside the cube creating various pockets of space.

Houston Inhabitation (2013) // photoshop // Taking the models from the “Occupy” project, I stacked them into a tower and placed them in between the two Allen Center buildings in downtown Houston. I imagine the space to act as a connecting area between the two buildings. Compression and verticality is a prominent factor in this model and as shown in the night view of the structure there are varied levels of depth in the space.

Negative Space (2013) // plaster // The negative space between my two previously made “two directional aggregation” models created a three dimensional shape from within. Mainly influenced by the basic outline of the negative space, I followed that form and expanded it into a model using triangular planes. Based on the zig-zag energy of the space, I believed that the triangular shapes would mimic and emphasize that concept.
