HOUSE EXTENSION PROJECT IN EATON RISE

We handled a house extension project in London. It was a Triple-story extension from lower ground floor level, loft conversion& dormer, and garage conversion. We provide the Full set of Building regulation package including structural calculation and details for retaining wall of the basement, steel framing to support existing and new bearing walls and floors, roof design to form two dormers and loft space.

The client asked to provide the best method to keep some existing bearing wall and floor joists. The problem was that there was an open area in the basement and three floors above with some bearing wall in the middle, This cause a large steel section for the long span. To solve this problem our engineer designed some small beam at upper floors to prevent transferring load onto the basement and managed them into sidewalls. All beam sizes became normal and saved money and the minimum depth of the floor to achieve the best headroom.

The other issue was the client plan for future and some potential changes. S3DA-design engineer has designed the frame suitable for the condition.
