This project focused on the renovation of a room in a museum located in cape cod. After a site visit, I found that the museum is not very large, but there is a large salt marsh around it. Also, according to my research, cape cod actually has serious water pollution.
The starting point of the whole project is to "give back to nature". As human beings, we are taking from nature every day, but when can we do something for nature?
I read a lot of literature and discovered two symbiotic organisms in the salt marsh: mussels and water plants. In order to preserve biodiversity and sustainability, my project started with a small installation floating on a salt marsh. Without interfering too much with nature, it provides a suitable living place for the organisms of the salt marsh to develop.
The interior of the exhibition evolved from this installation, and people will walk through the exhibition hall like the creatures in the salt marsh, learning about the function of the installation, learning about it, and raising awareness of environmental protection.
Status: School Project
