A reactivation project in Orestad, Denmark of a transportation juncture that is occupied by inward-going large scale buildings by highlighting the senses in an experiential garden spaces through rain and wind. The design is intended to be a atmosphere moment for passers by to slow down their pace and enjoy the moment and later on expected to develop into a attraction for people to come and visit on purpose.
In between the office buildings with the cold look of concrete and steel in the neighborhood, the rain garden acts as a humane relief designed to be connected to human scale and provide a touch of color and temperature to the site.
The metal structures were placed together densely to create an seemly enclosed environment for the intimate experience, it is to interact with the rain and generate sounds that speaks about the surrounding to the users by heightening their senses. It is a space to experience the ritual of water, the rhythm of nature and an emotional atmosphere for the audiences. When the rain falls and accumulates onto the plane, it flows in the direction according to the tilted angle determined by the wind and drops onto another lower structure which eventually flows into the pool.
