The project "Public Campus" combines the attributes between open public spaces and academic programs.  The project site is adjacent to the new public library in the heart of downtown San Diego, California.  It lends itself to extend academic programs within the library to activate the space.  The site is divided into several areas varying from fully public open spaces to semi public/private areas.  There's a variety of indoor and outdoor programs activating the spaces such as basketball, tennis, sculpture gardens, food concessions, book stores, and learning facilities.  The programs provide students attending the high school (within the new public library) much needed outdoor space which is commonly shared with the general public.
