The studio space was lifted to the second floor and given a double height space. The open floor plan and bright space give occupants the freedom to use the space as they need. All rigid programs were moved above to a mezzanine level and to a service tower that stretches the entire east side. The first floor was given a public program that could successfully engage the active social life of Allen Street. The Franklin street facade is the 'billboard' of the firm and celebrates the firms experimental practice. The design of the facade was inspired by the structure of a birds bone and supports the floor, roof, and facade.
