This study on a portion of a major urban space (Panama City, Panama) allows for paths, edges, districts, and nodes to be accurately assessed. A timeline of Panama City’s history allows for deeper exploration of the site. These diagramatical studies allow for visual and tangible feelings of space and a sense of place.
The figure ground hand rendering accurately displays spatial relationships between tall, built hardscapes and open, hardscape cooridors. The diagramatical rendering successfully separates elements in the landscape based on light and dark contrast. This technique of breaking up the landscape visually in plan allows for a positive evaluation of the space.
