Thesis of the architectural cursus.
The city of Ambert (France) is looking for a way to attract new inhabitants and avoid urban sprawl. The city wonders about a plot of land it has recently acquired near the city center. This project will be submited to the population of Ambert.

Our response suggests ecological self-build as a new way of life to attract a new kind of population in Ambert. The structuration of the site we propose makes easier the construction of their houses by the inhabitants. We imagine a full process accompanying self-builders:

• use of the railway of the site to  bring raw materials for the construction in a workshop at their disposal,
• offer of a place to live during the construction of the house
• offer of an ecological self-builders formation on site,
• creation of separating walls between two plots of land which carries the house structure and  bring various networks (water, electricity...).

During the project, a particular attention has been paid to the  realism of the project. In this perspective structual, thermal and acoustic studies have been performed to back the design.
