In opposition with the monolithic character of the old buildings, the new one appears as a elongated and permeable volume that allows the visual connection between the two fronts (Orzan coast and Pontevedra square) and, at the same time, solves the connection with the existing school (Eusebio da Guarda).
Playing with the opposites: transparent-opaque, massive-empty, continuous-perforated, the new school takes the shape as a unitary volume, open and permeable which solves the mobility problems. One of the main element in the inner space is the ramp, sited parallel to the back facade, that rise up the building from the ground floor.
