River City

Mumbai is surrounded e by water on three sides. It is also the business and financial capital of India. being a coastal town, because of the rising sea water it constantly faces the issue of flooding and storm surge (specially during monsoons). there are name low lying areas as the different islands of the city were connected with land fill.
With the proposal of Olympics in Mumbai, India, and the revenue that if will bring in could equip the city to make the changes that could help if with the floods.
A new network of structures, within the existing road network of the city. A spine which links a series of event spaces. the initial spine will work as the main network connecting all the Olympic venues and for pedestrian circulation.
These venues- stadiums, parks, etc- becomes containers for water when  there is a storm surge.
the island that was filled with landfill to make one huge island is again broken down into a number of islands to keep it afloat and give water a purpose.
