The Rowe

The Rowe is an urban art community for locals offering introductory classes in silkscreen, painting, photography and wood shop.  In addition to classes it provides large studios for independent work and development.  This is a creative place for artists to come and work if they simply don’t have the space to work elsewhere.  There are gallery spaces open to the public showcasing The Rowe’s artists.

The design reflects a city grid in a way that brings together the community.  Like in many cities, there are different elements that draw attention to city dwellers when they are on their everyday route, like parks, cafes, etc.   To create these elements, sculptural gardens, cafes and galleries are brought into the building.
