Renovation and Addition to Bomberger Hall, Ursinus College, PA
Position: Project Architect with Reed Axelrod Architects
Bomberger Hall is the centerpiece of Ursinus' historic campus. The project budget of $10M allowed for a comprehensive rethinking of the entire building. Due to its central location and value to Ursinus, it also needed a new main entrance that linked it strongly to the campus. We completely redesigned and expanded the usable interior of this 40,000sf, 4-story building to house 6 academic and 2 administrative departments, 7 large "smart" classrooms, and the music department which included a large rehearsal room and 5 practice rooms. The glorious main auditorium was also enlarged and completely restored, and the all-new HVAC, lighting and IT systems were designed to cutting-edge standards.
